Meditating to the sound of the birds outside my window

Finding a job I want to apply for. And it pays super well too! Accidentally already mentally spent the first month’s salary.

Ironing. It’s so relaxing. Such smooth sheets.

A walk around the resouvoirs. Chilly but beautiful.

Watching Notting Hill. What a film.

Just general housemate lols.

The most perfect day on the canal on their new boat.

All the wildlife. The kingfisher, the dragonflies, the greedy swans.

Dipping my toes in the water, sitting in the sun at the front of the boat.

Going into Foyles. Properly going in and buying a book and smelling that great smell of all those pages and feeling that calm that is in book shops.

Sitting in the garden, reading as the light faded and the birds sang. The air smelt beautiful.

Scottish drag queen names.

A day on the beach at Comporta
The amazing stalks, nesting everywhere. And the birds diving into the sea to fish.
BBQ chat with Alec and Ciaran.

Standing by the window at LCR feeling the heat, the sun, the birds.
The Monet exhibition.
Games Night at Holly and Al’s house. With a the delicious food. And so much cheese.

The birds singing as I meditated in the morning
WoW festival press night. I’m so excited for WoW festival. I can’t believe I’ve still never been. This is the year.
Crumpets for elevensies. I love crumpets!

A free watermelon
The flock of pigeons taking flight in the park at lunchtime.
£2 lunch. From M&S no less.

Sitting in the hot tub this morning, watching the birds as the sun came out.
Going for a quick walk in the beautiful weather. The sky was clear, the sun felt warm and everything seemed just lovely.
Putting mascara on again. Hi lashes.

Beautiful Amsterdam.
Big multicoloured ducks.
Peppa Pig hanging up on her friend.

Boobie birds.
The amazing toilets at Kawakawa.
The neatly folded shower cap.

This sign.
Listening to the birds during meditation.
Watching balloons pop at the Seung Yul Oh exhibition at the City Gallery.

The sky this morning
Walking out of work at the exact same time my boyfriend was walking past.
Listening to the birds on the way home. One sounded like a wooden xylophone.

Getting up close with some wild Keas in Arthur’s Pass.
Buying some knitting needles and wool to knit hats. Third time lucky. Hopefully. How many more ways can I mess up a simple hat?
Having a shower in the campervan. My very first campervan shower. It was good. A bit cramped but good.

Having lunch in a great little cafe with a huge garden out the back filled with plants and birds and sun and reggae music.
The lovely, helpful guy from the alcohol shop who helped us pick out a good local gin for my parents when they arrive.
The Welsh pub! Went for after work drinks and stayed for ages. It felt like a real pub. Sticky floors, drunk chatty landlord and full of Welsh people!

chicken garden

Working from my boss’s garden, in the sun, with the birds singing, chickens roaming around and the smell of cut grass in the air

Having a complete stomach flip of excitement that we’re leaving in 5 weeks to go travelling the world. EEK!

Coming home to hug my boyfriend’s super warm body and feeling safe

A few drinks with close friends at a nice pub where we chatted about all the amazing things we’ll be doing when we’re away.

My denim jacket. I haven’t worn it for ages but I remembered how much I love it.

The adorable tiny ducklings and the mandarin duck on the canal. And the coot that ran across the water for ages.

singing bird

Walking to the shop without my music. It was surprisingly quiet with just a few birds to keep me company.

Sending off our visa applications to New Zealand. At the exact same time (I counted down and made sure we both pressed send together).

Seeing a friend we haven’t seen for two years as he’s been living in India

Getting our vaccinations, looking at bags and being one step closer to going away

Walking throughout the gorgeous St James’ Park in the brilliant sunshine, looking out on the sparkling water, the colourful blossom and the abundance of birds – herons, pelicans, geese and fluffy baby geese.

The first BBQ of the year. Hello halloumi

This tweet from Pundamentalism.

A park full of pigeons flying at me.

A clean home

The sound of birds outside my window in the morning. It used to drive me crazy when I lived at home but now I love it.

Mum’s homemade sausage rolls. There goes the vegetarianism for a day or two.
