Breakfast in Barcelona, lunch in Paris and dinner in London. Which makes my looooong train journey home sound a lot more exotic.

The photo of tired Alec and the angry looking guy behind him getting on the plane. We all did pretty well considering we had so little sleep.

Watching RuPaul in bed with Jonny. Again.

Delicious terriakyi salmon at my local Japanese.

Beers and old school music at the quiet but lovely pub next door. With Jonny. My favourite person.

Hand soap that reminds me so much of a certain campsite in France from when I was younger.

The loud and lively wedding by the river. The big brass band following the bride and her besties around for an hour, dancing and dancing. It was so much fun.

Feeling more confident. Being less shy about talking in French. Not calling myself an idiot.

Alice’s texts about her long awaited Neighbours prediction coming true. Dee isn’t dead!

The chocolatine aux almondes. Fuck me. That thing was delicious.

Lying in the sun next to the pond for hours and wandering around the Japanese garden.

Walking home from dinner and discovering a little group of people dancing and playing live French music. I stopped and watched for a while, smiling like I haven’t smiled for days. My highlight of the holiday. The perfect last evening in France.

Morning yoga. With the balcony doors open.

Simple and the ginger hot chocolate. I did it. And it was the perfect, quiet place to relax out of the rain. I’m glad I turned round and found the courage to go in.

The Pont Neuf at night.

Being in beautiful Toulouse, all on my own.

The gorgeous AirBnB I’m staying in.

Buying my French favorites – grape juice, apple puree and an incredible chocolate mousse.

The kid who threw his ice cream on the floor. And that stamped on it.

Reading a piece about the French loving spending time on their own. Just before I’m about to go to France on my own.

Coffee milkshake.

My colleague had to have his goat put down last week? Oh, had he been carrying it for a while?

Chatting skiing and cheese with Andrew.
Swimming after work. I was really looking forward to it.
Hannah’s poo stories.

I skied! I’ve never skied before and it was so much fun!
The well earned and totally delicious hot chocolate with biscuits on afterwards.
….then the raclette for dinner. CHEEEEEEESE!

The beautiful cloud formations on the plane.
Discovering the British passport has a UNICORN on it.
SNOW! Chamonix. FRANCE! Drinking hot wine outside with the stunning mountains in the background. The horse wearing a hat! The drummers. Touching a ski. Finding the crisps.
The ice hockey match. The shouting in French, the men, the crêpe, the fondue, the winning.

That’s loads more than three but it’s been such a fun day.

Being back in beautiful, if windy, Wellington.
Santino Rice and Michelle Visage arguing about the pronunciation of brocade on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
A lovely last meditation, picturing previous holidays in France.

A Belgium biscuit.
Dinner. And the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had.
Cuddling on the bed watching French cooking.

The beautiful day. Pure blue sky, no wind and it felt quite warm again.
The smell of a French campsite in summer, reminding me of all my wonderful relaxing holidays with my parents.
The Noble Family. Especially the Mexican version of a Michael Jackson song at the end credits.

The smell of sweetcorn at work, reminding me of summers in France.
My colleague missing her mouth and spilling water down her front.
The beautiful blue sky as I walked home from work.

Working with my legs in the sun

Our little business was hired to work for World Book Night. A night in a library, telling posh, rich women about what we do, eating delicious cake for free and being paid for it. Yes please.

Warm evening air and the smell of cigars. Reminds me of holidays in France when I was younger
