Being the best with the babies.
Having a nice chat with Laura and with Ed.
Meeting Alex and seeing him look at Jonny in a lovely way.
Finished dad’s present.
Started making an adorable penguin jumper for Fred.
Old friend chat on Zoom. Surprisingly fun!
Lunch with Rosie and Jim.
Showing them my favourite bits of the Tate.
Walking home, finding new streets.
The wedding. Some things I especially liked:
Making a couple of good inuendo jokes.
Lots of dancing
Kurdish dancing
Kurdish food
Jim’s happy tears
Swimming in the sea.
Letting the chicken loose at breakfast.
Playing games after dinner. The animal game and consequences. I especially loved Ming’s jellyfish-eagle.
Having a sugar rush post lemon curd bun.
Arriving at the big house and finding that everyone had waited for us to have dinner.
Being all together in a big house with delicious food and reminiscing about school days
Jen’s personal highlight of the week: being official outside of work friends with me. FINALLY! She admits it!
Beer and cuddles with Jo after work. Short and sweet.
Deciding to not give up sugar. Fuck that shit. I’m not down with fad diets and denying yourself anything. There’s no such thing as good and bad food.
Realising I had a whole heap of reasons to be happy today. Feeling really calm and happy. No housemates, no real day plans, being organised and peaceful. Getting my fingers in the dirt again.
Going to visit Holly and Al’s new flat. It’s beautiful. And Al telling funny, long stories about making the perfect coffee.
Alec and Ciaran at Doug’s party. Those two make me laugh heaps. HEAPS.
Walking over the bridge and stopping to admire my beautiful city in the winter sun. Deciding to take a photo to capture the moment for the blog…
…then looking at the photo inside later on and realising my glove is in it. Like always. But it made me smile again. So I’m keeping it.
Dinner with my home friends, at Jana’s beautiful house.
The green wood bowl workshop. I made a bowl from a chunk of log using an axe, an adze, a chisel and a knife. It was amazing! And such hard work. But I did it.
Doing it with Jim. I love him. What an amazing friend to have had for 25 years. He’s one of the most caring and supportive men I know. I’m so lucky.
Watching Happy.
