My cousin came to the Period Party. I’d totally forgotten she was coming.
Sarah’s talking vulva.
People leaving, saying such lovely things about learning new information and how much they enjoyed it.
Self love life drawing. Drawing. And being drawn.
Doing a second pose that wasn’t so scrunched up.
Letting myself walk calmly down Oxford St.
More posters! Thank god! The competition wasn’t a total bust!
And the judging went really well!
Smiling as I walked out the office. So many things went well today, I’m feeling so much happier!
Going to the gym and walking home in the sunny winter day.
Talking to Stuart. He’s very sweet. And he sent me a brilliant feminist poem about vaginas. Which reminded me of one of my favourite quotes – Our foremothers were farmers, warriors, builders and weavers. They had wrinkles and pubic hair and opinions.
Japanese dinner with Will. A really lovely evening. He’s still very much got a place in my heart.
The squirrel outside the gym, pulling chips out the newspaper.
Had a really positive morning. Sent off a job application, had a conference call where I found out we’ll be paid for WOW and then I went to the gym. All before 10am.
Spent the afternoon sewing more vulvas.
Then I met another great feminist at Corinne’s leaving party. It was really fun to talk to her. Whilst texting Stuart about cheese. So much cheese.
Waking up happy and positive. At 11am.
Buying fresh sourdough to make this delicious breakfast (yes, I added sugar snap peas). And accidentally buying an expensive apple, beetroot and ginger juice.
An afternoon with Wiseman. Learning to crochet, talking feelings but mainly just laughing at her 1 second story repeatedly.’Now? Yes!’
A spot of sewing, turning a collared shirt into a more simple neckline.
A wander down Exmouth Market, buying nice wine, handmade leather purses, cute cards and mulled wine for two, for a chat with a friend.
Feeling positive. Feeling good. Feeling like it’s all going to be alright. I like myself. I’m proud of myself. I’m doing good.
A day of demolition, meeting people and positive feelings on the estate. I feel like its finally coming together! Its so exciting!
Date night with Jonny. All the food, all the beer plus some shockingly bad bowling, ping pong and pool. Mr and Mrs Bones, forever.
The Period Poem by Dominique Christina. Bleed and bleed and bleed.
A lady popped her head around the door of the shop today and asked what we did. Within 5 minutes she was having a cup of tea with us. A few hours later she left, after we had all laughed together, chatted together and made each other feel overwhelmingly positive. These are the sorts of people you should meet everyday.
A delicious fish cake and mashed potato for dinner
Lying together on the bed, chatting. Feels like ages since we’ve spent any relaxed time together.
